Welcome to Storage Depot. By accessing our website, browsing our container inventory, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations, and you agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.
Storage Depot Pty Ltd operates this website and sells shipping containers throughout Australia. We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Throughout these Terms, the following definitions apply:
We strive to ensure all container descriptions, specifications, images, and pricing on our website are accurate and up to date. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content are error-free, complete, or current. Container conditions (such as “new”, “used”, “wind and water tight”) are described to the best of our knowledge based on industry standards.
All prices displayed on our website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. While we make every effort to ensure accurate pricing, errors may occasionally occur. If we discover an error in the price of a container you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it for a full refund.
Container availability is subject to change without notice, and all containers are offered subject to prior sale. We will notify you if a container you have ordered becomes unavailable and provide suitable alternatives or a full refund.
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase containers subject to these Terms. We will send you an order confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your order. This acknowledgement does not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us is formed only when we send you a separate email confirming dispatch of your container(s), or when payment has been processed and accepted.
We accept the following payment methods:
For certain orders, particularly modified containers or special orders, we may require a non-refundable deposit of up to 50% before commencing work. The balance must be paid in full prior to delivery or collection.
As a registered Australian business, we are required to charge GST on all taxable supplies. A valid tax invoice will be provided with your order confirmation.
We deliver shipping containers to all major metropolitan and regional areas across Australia. Delivery to remote or difficult-to-access locations may incur additional charges, which will be quoted prior to order confirmation.
Delivery costs are calculated based on your location, container size, and access requirements. You will be provided with a delivery quote before confirming your order. Delivery is not included in container prices unless expressly stated.
The customer is responsible for ensuring:
If delivery cannot be completed due to inadequate access, incorrect information provided, or no one being present to accept delivery, additional fees may apply for re-delivery attempts. These fees will be charged at our standard rates.
Customers may arrange to collect containers from our depot by appointment. All collection must be completed within 7 days of payment clearance. Storage fees may apply for containers left beyond this period.
For used containers, it is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the container prior to acceptance or delivery. We encourage customers to personally inspect containers at our depot before purchase. For deliveries, you must inspect the container upon arrival before the truck departs.
Once you sign the delivery docket or acceptance form, you acknowledge that you have inspected the container and accept it in its current condition, subject to any noted exceptions. Claims for damage or discrepancies must be noted on the delivery documentation at the time of delivery.
Important: Failure to inspect and note issues at the time of delivery may affect your ability to make a claim under our warranty, but it does not remove your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we provide the following voluntary warranties:
| Container Type | Warranty Period | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| New containers | 12 months | Structural defects, water tightness |
| Used containers (Grade A/B) | 3 months | Structural defects, water tightness |
| Modified containers | 6 months | Workmanship and modifications |
| Container parts / accessories | 30 days | Manufacturing defects |
These voluntary warranties do not cover:
These exclusions apply to our voluntary warranty only and do not limit the consumer guarantees described in clause 7.1.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery if the container is significantly different from its description. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error. Custom-built or modified containers cannot be returned unless faulty. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storage Depot Pty Ltd excludes all liability for any loss or damage (including indirect, special, or consequential loss) arising from the use of, or inability to use, our containers or website, or from any action taken (or not taken) as a result of using this website or any information contained within it.
Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and to the extent we are permitted to do so, our liability is limited at our option to replacing or repairing the container, or refunding the purchase price.
We are not liable for any loss of contents stored in containers, business interruption, or other consequential losses, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
As a customer, you agree to:
You may not use our containers or website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our services. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Storage Depot Pty Ltd or its content suppliers and is protected by Australian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any content without our written permission.
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our website, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
If a dispute arises between you and Storage Depot, we encourage you to contact us first to seek a resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute through informal discussions, both parties agree to participate in mediation in good faith before commencing any legal proceedings. The mediation will be conducted in Queensland, with a mediator agreed upon by both parties. Nothing in this clause prevents you from exercising your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or contacting your state or territory consumer protection agency.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, that unenforceability or invalidity will not render these Terms unenforceable or invalid as a whole, and the provision will be read down or severed without affecting the remaining provisions.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order confirmations, constitute the entire agreement between you and Storage Depot regarding the use of our website and the purchase of containers, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
